Relax Kids Relaxation Workshop

Relax Kids is a unique method of teaching children to relax using dance and movement, games, stretching and breathing exercises, peer massage, affirmations and visualisations. Children enter as magical world as they have fun relaxing their bodies and minds.

Aims

To provide an interactive and fun workshop designed to encourage confidence, creativity through deep relaxation.

To help children learn and appreciate basic relaxation and stress-reducing techniques.

To help children become aware of their feelings and emotions and learn techniques to manage these feelings.

To allow children to have fun while exercising and learning to relax.

To develop children’s concentration skills.

To improve general behaviour in children.

To promote a positive self image and self esteem in children.

To improve children’s school performance.

Duration:

60 mins sessions

Objective:

To introduce children to simple relaxation techniques that can be used in their lives.

To explore the area of appreciating the self amongst children and developing greater autonomy through self-empowerment.

To encourage children to use these simple techniques regularly in order to develop their self-esteem and self worth.

Methods:

Movement, games, stretching, peer massage and breathing exercises, along with affirmations, simple visualisations will be included.

Techniques used will raise self-awareness, relationship awareness and encourage personal responsibility. The workshop will be client led with a holistic and flexible approach.

Content:

Introductions and ice breaker

Movement and stretches

Breathing and affirmation exercises

Visualisations deep body relaxations

Feedback and conclusion

Outcomes:

All children will be challenged and supported and guided through a process designed to promote self-awareness and encourage them to realise they have the self-responsibility. The facilitator will temporarily empower the children to take charge of them selves and then hand over the reins so the children are given the opportunity to realise they have the strength and confidence to act on their own initiative and use the techniques learnt.

Support Materials:

Schools will have the opportunity to sample supporting Relax Kids materials which can be used in follow up work with children. Relax Kids has developed a range of powerful products that specialise in introducing children to simple relaxation techniques. Books, CDs and self-esteem cards will be available to for purchase.
